    3. My 2 cents worth....I think the father of the Yates children is just as responsible if not more so than the mother. It takes two to tango and he KNEW she had problems. And I wonder if any family or friends tried to step in and help this family. This is the saddest thing and you know killing your own children goes against all the maternal instinct a woman has. Guess I should say most women. If I was the maternal grandmother of those children I'm afraid I would be in jail about now! "The psychiatrist told us not to have any more children, but she didn't FORBID it, so we went ahead and had another...." that is paraphrasing, but that is what he said. Creep. I don't think that Andrea Yates had any say in that matter. Also, she tried to kill herself and he didn't take her to the hospital, and, on another occasion when she tried to kill herself, he decided to take her on a walk along the sea wall in Galveston "to calm her down." That didn't work, either. He was preventing her from getting medical care with these decisions. Pat
