Oh my gosh....I was raised on salt water and Vicks and in turn did the same for my children. To this day, nothing makes a sore throat or a canker sore in your mouth feel so much better than salt water. Many times I had vicks rubbed on my throat and chest and Mother used a warm flannel cloth over it.
