JUST BECAUSE! I guess maybe French helped you get into an IVY League college or maybe most of the ancestors spoke French(not). I started 6,7,8th grades in Massachusetts and was way behind in math,French and English. In England,(3,4,5th grades) those who went to school "off base" took Latin and French also. We did not have a language included when we went to school on base.
