    3. I made sure I went to Colorado at least four times a years! This way I stayed acclimated. Slept on a lot of floors in a sleeping bag. Some times drove the whole time-the whole time with a cat nap here and there. Took the back seat out of the Suburban and put in a single air mattress, packed enough food for several days and went! 3. You never know! I got to looking into my Maupin line last night and found all French Canadian names. I can remember when an Archambeau played for the Dallas Black Hawks,Michel La Chance played for the Ft Worth Texans, Denni DeGagne played for Ft Worth, etc. All of these names are related to me through the Merseals/Meceilles who married Maupin girls! Ta mere sucre l'au d'canal! Vive La France! Lynn I used to date pro hockey players. Why did I decide to get a degree in Nursing? I could be in Canada right now! Must have been a brain glitch. Seemed like a good idea at the time. As with all my friends, I did a lot of dog sitting when they were called up to the Islanders. At least the biggest dog was trained in English and his "Daddy" was Italian and left a freezer full of Italian treats-for the dog not me! I got a "People" bag. > [Original Message] > From: <SandKatC@aol.com> > To: <MAUPIN-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com> > Date: 10/9/02 8:33:59 AM > Subject: [MAUPIN-CHAT] No Subject > > In a message dated 10/9/02 8:33:56 AM, celticblood@earthlink.net writes: > > > > > If you walk up you will be acclimated by the time you reach 7100'. 3. Fannie Maupin had glaucoma - was blind before she died. I also have glaucoma - had surgery on the left eye, still need it on the right. Cousin Sandy's mother also has glaucoma (OLDhENaNDrOOSTER@aol.com). Don't know to what extent it runs in the family, but obviously it does. Laser surgery means not going blind nor needing further treatment if caught in time! Gwen ----- Original Message ----- From: M Lynn Taylor Sent: Thursday, October 10, 2002 3:01 PM To: MAUPIN-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [MAUPIN-CHAT] Re: Surgery Orthopedic problems must be a Maupin thing too. When I was at the reunion in MO in June, I asked about Spina Bifida and that seems to be a recessive trait. Around Maupin,MO it crops up in several Maupin families 2-7 generations apart. When in Williamsburg saw few ortho problems but many cataracts. This is not mentioning the cardiac problems which seem to be left ventricular hypertrophy ( which is pretty common in USA) but many withMitral Valve prolapsed which is hereditary. All Maupins lived into very oldage and were very active. If you can imagine living into your 80's in the 1700's when life expectancy was early 40's at best. Have a dead van battery-second day in a row. Bought one of those emergencyjumpers and it did not work. Cannot get van out of park so I can push it away from the garage. Neighbor drove me to get the jumper. He has a new Cadillac and the battery is under the back seat. That is no help. Dogs have dragged in copious amounts of wet mud from the recent rains. I had just scrubbed the floor using a finger nail brush to get the grout-likeimage between the fake brick tiles clean. They have even managed to sling the mud up the walls and of course onto my bed. My washer is running over so cannot wash. So,I am eating a lot of chocolate today. Cannot get a snake down the washer drain and it is clogged from washing rugs. BIG QUESTION-Any body know what you spray on patterns to keep the tissue paper from ripping? I am starting my costume and just the weight of the fabric will tear the pattern. 1. [MAUPIN-CHAT] bathroom mirrors up today!
    2. Hi Gang: The guys from the glass company came over this afternoon and put large mirrors up in all three bathrooms. Along with the light bars above each mirror it sure looks nice! I wish we'd done this before we decided to sell. But, sometimes improvements are made for the next family to enjoy. We are a little under the weather. Kitten has a cold and Len and I feel like we are getting something. I don't get colds so if this is one, it will be an all time first. Feels more like the flu. Also, a Garrard cousin in VA emailed me one of those old post card photos of my G grandma, Mary Daniel [Maupin] Fitzpatrick and some of the younger children. He said that he is going to snail mail it to me. Isn't that great? Happy dancing. I have a copy of the one a cousin has but not the real item! Smiling Sickly Simi Sandi

I started 6,7,8th grades in Massachusetts and was way behind in math,French and English. In England,(3,4,5th grades) those who went to school "off base" took Latin and French also.
