Sandi. Strange how there is one child that can handle grief and ones that can't. Always thought my youngest to be very strong, but when talk of final arrangements he couldn't. This past winter, Mom was so bad they gave her only a 10% chance of making it through the night. She is still around. She has a bad heart Sugar, her kidneys had shut down, and very low blood pressure. and potassum poisioning. Later she had gall bladder surgery!Prayer works wonders!Jackie ----- Original Message ----- From: <SandKatC@aol.com> To: <MAUPIN-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 02, 2002 1:37 AM Subject: [MAUPIN-CHAT] Lana > > In a message dated 11/1/02 9:57:04 PM, SOLITAREJUNKIE@aol.com writes: > > << He has very bad heart & Kidneys not sure if he can hold up > thru a surgery. dear lana. So sorry to hear of your husband's health. Sounds bad, but prayer can do wonders. will keep him in mind. Whoa, Betty, my memory of music only goes back to ca 1950 to really "get with it". My music - in the choir at school and church were the main interest until ca 1951, then I got interested in ballroom and all the other "GOOD" music of the period. Do you girls remember the crinoline petticoats we wore that had to absolutely be starched as stiff as a board? >____________ Remember white eyelet embroidery? The heavy cotton stuff? Mother made me a top, complete with peplum which was popular in those days, and it was one of the hardest things I had to iron - until I started ironing my husband's stiff white pharmacy jackets. The eyelet top of course had to be starched. I was always so afraid I would scorch it. When I finally got it "perfect", I hated to wear it because I knew I would have to do it all over again. Oh my gosh....I was raised on salt water and Vicks and in turn did the same for my children. To this day, nothing makes a sore throat or a canker sore in your mouth feel so much better than salt water.
