He never says anything that he can't elaborate and stretch out--all the while just to hear his own dulcet tones, I do believe. Did you know that he was married to a woman with Muscular Dystrophy and had a small child (a girl) and divorced the woman so that he could run around with a woman in her 20's? When he was married to the mother of his child, he used to talk about them a lot on the air. Now, when anybody brings up anything about it, he simply won't answer. He fell in love with a "young thing" and had an affair, and then decided that wife in the wheelchair was holding him back. What a crud he is. He wrote a column in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram pretty much saying that there is no such thing as mental illness, and on his radio show, he scathingly described Andrea Yates at the trial because "they didn't pretty her up" for the trial. A woman called in to his show and, talking about Andrea Yates, said, "They oughta find her guilty and then pump her with some drugs and "cure" her and then we could send her down to Huntsville to fry for what she done!" and he just laughed and laughed. Ugh. Pat

    1. [MAUPIN-CHAT] DAR - FROM ROOTSWEB REVIEW
    2. DNA and DAR By Nancy Hattaway Miller [email protected] For DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) you not only have to prove a blood relationship, you have to prove legitimacy at each step along the way. Since DNA doesn't come with marriage licenses attached, I doubt it would be accepted as evidence for a lineage society, at least one with the legitimacy requirement. An interesting question, which more clearly focuses on whether or not these venerable societies will embrace new technology would be: If a lineage is proven on paper, but a DNA test casts doubt, will they close that line? [Editor's Note: The proof of legal and lawful marriages has not been required by DAR since 3 Feb. 1996, but the other question probably will have to be addressed by hereditary societies at some point.]

Guess > I should say most women. If I was the maternal grandmother of those > children I'm afraid I would be in jail about now! Mary Did you see his comments in today's paper? "The psychiatrist told us not to have any more children, but she didn't FORBID it, so we went ahead and had another...." that is paraphrasing, but that is what he said. Creep. I don't think that Andrea Yates had any say in that matter. Also, she tried to kill herself and he didn't take her to the hospital, and, on another occasion when she tried to kill herself, he decided to take her on a walk along the sea wall in Galveston "to calm her down." That didn't work, either. He was preventing her from getting medical care with these decisions. Pat

I guess you should have said "the woman" instead of "the women" as this is the first time I have ever heard of someone believing this sort of thing. People are > not calling in to discuss it, either. > > Sandi The opinions in Cali are probably---sheesh! I hope---different from these Texas yokels who call in so blood-thirsty that they can't hardly wait to put someone to death. One of our local talk show hosts, Mark Davis, says that he is "pro-life and pro-death" at the same time and that those stances aren't counter-productive or even illogical. He, however, is typical of his audience, who seems to always be on the lookout for "someone to fry." However, the thread I keep picking up on is that somehow, murder is different when a woman does it AND mental illness doesn't exist except as a convenient shield for someone to use against the law. That's sickening, in itself. Pat
