Hello William, I am still on the list and diligently reading all email from Maupin at rootsweb. I am also still searching for the parents of my Nicholas Sneed/Snead who married Sarah (Sally) McDaniel in Albemarle County, Va., in 1820. I have not had any luck in doing so. I received a letter from a current Benjamin Snead presently living in Albemarle County and he cannot connect Nicholas with any in his line. I believe he indicated that his Snead group came from Louisa as well as Albemarle County. A few other Snead researchers have been unable to tell me the children of Jacob Snead. Sarah McDaniel and Nicholas had my gggrandfather John William Snead who married Mary Anne Tooley. It is her descent from the Maupin line by way of Daniel Maupin and Margaret Via to Zachariah Maupin and Elizabeth Jarman through to a Walton and then a Tooley. So as you can tell, the Via line connects through Mary Ann Tooley. But obviously there is a Sneed family who knew the Vias in Albemarle and somewhere along there Nicholas has to connect. I know that this isn't helpful for you all in finding out more about Sneed Via. But just keep me in mind if something comes along that might connect with Nicholas. I am still searching......
