I have 2 pictures of the gun when it was presented the first time at the VA reunion in 2000. However, I sent the pictures to I think Dorothy, however, I still have the negatives. I guess I could get copies again. ________________ This is the information I have on the George Washington rifle. Bill or Loren will know more and be able to correct any errors to my story. I believe Vernon Maupin is in possession of the rifle at this time. The rifle originally belonged to Daniel III, cousin of Mosias Maupin. Washington had six guns made to be given to special soldiers. Daniel III was an Orderly Sergeant at Yorktown. He and his cousin Mosias took care of Cornwallis after he was captured. General Washington gave one of these guns to Daniel III. Daniel gave the gun to Mosias in 1805 when he came to Missouri. Vernon Maupin is from the Lewis Maupin line. Bettye (Mrs. Max Gail) Maupin - Rolla, Missouri. I have a picture of Max holding the huge rifle but don't have the ability to put it on the Net. ____________________________ >I have 2 pictures of the gun when it was presented the first time at the VA >reunion in 2000.
