Ellie, The rifle is kept in a bank vault for safety reasons. In short the rifle was presented to Daniel Maupin III by General George Washington and was one of six specially made for presentation. Daniel loaned/gave it to Mosias when he left Kentucky to go to Missouri. The rifle was on view at the Charlotville Reunion in 2000 and has been at several Fulton reunions. I have a picture and others are available, mine is not able to be sent by internet.
