Hi gang, Have been away for awhile from my family search due to family demands, business demands and sickness, but am doing much better and am back trying to tie up some loose ends and do some more search. We are going to be in Williamsburg/Norfolk/Cheseapeake area of Virginia May 4-May 10, and was wanting to know if anyone on the list can give me some details as to where to possible go and see some of our ancestor Maupin's homes/property or places to research or visit. Am planning about 3 days in the Williamsburg, Charles City, Richmond area and doing lots of historical sight-seeing including Civil War stuff, cause my great great grandfather Silas Maupin (from Mason County, VA) was in that War and am interested in getting as much background and historical information as I can. Also historical info on our colonial Maupin's and how they lived in the 16-1700s. So any help would be appreciated. Does anyone know if there were Maupin's in the area of Cheseapeake/tidewater areas? I know that I heard somewhere that there might be and that my Thomas Maupin owned tidewater property (better get my Maupin book out and do some search)....
