    1. [MAUPIN-L] Williamsburg & Civil War Stuff
    2. Thanks all for info on what I can look for in Williamsburg when we go there May 3-10th. Am really looking forward to doing a big history thing both Revolutionary War and Civil War stuff too. Will take tons of pictures of the colonial houses there in Williamsburg and hope to eat/drink in one of the taverns too..... As far as Civil War history/stuff goes. I know that Maupins were Virginian's and probably alot of them fought in the Civil War for the South, so am interested in any history and musems there too concerning that. However, it is very interesting that my Silas Thomas Gilmore Maupin son of Samuel Jennings Maupin, son of Thomas Maupin, son of John Maupin (married Frances Dabney), son of Daniel Maupin, son of Gabriel Maupin, also fought in the Civil War (I have all of his Civil War records and pension records) but he fought for the North in a Kansas Calvary. He happened to be living near/at Fort Scott, Kansas at the time and I guess signed up then. Any other Maupin Civil War history that anyone would like to share about their anscestors would be welcome. Thanks all. Will report back when we return on May 11th. Susan (in San Diego)
