She was the commissioner of Revenue, responsible for city and state business ...income and other tax matters. So, of course everybody in town knew her. She was a good friend of my Aunt Tillie, (Eloise Tilman Maupin- Copps) who just celebrated her 93rd birthday April 20th. She still lives in the house her parents built next door to my grandparents house and only has a housekeeper come in once a week. Ora called her two weeks ago and all was fine and they did their check in with each other. Ora had a heart condition and Aunt Tillie thinks that is what called her home. Of course, she never mentioned age since she's older than Ora by 5 months.
