Some time ago, William Albertson (William are you out there?) gave me the name of my gg-grandmother as Lucy A. Maupin who was married to my James R. Maupin. The name of her father was Gabriel Maupin and mother Lucy Huckstep. >From Dorothy's book, pg. 99, I also see that Gabriel was married 2nd to Lucy Mallory. I found Gabriel's will at Albemarle Co. Courthouse this past week, but, it names his second wife Lucy Ann and her brother who was a Mallory. Did not name any children in the will. So my question is, how do we tie my Lucy A. Maupin to Lucy Huckstep or might she have been the dau. of Lucy Mallory? Just interested in the documentation. Second question. Does anyone know if or how Lucy's parents can be documented. Are they Josiah Huckstep and Nancy Watts? At the Albemarle Courthouse, I found the will of a Josiah Huckstep, but, he names no wife or children. He just leaves everything to a brother and a friend, etc. not sounding like he was married. Hope someone on this line can help! Sherry Mason
