    1. Re: [MAUPIN] Newspaper reports of the Maupin name in Oklahoma City area
    2. Thanks for the MAUPIN postings.. I am related to the line in Franklin Co. MO.. John was a brother of a gggg ... grandfather... (whatever)... My line went to Oklahoma in the early 1900s.. some stayed, some went back to MO. My great grandmother was Sarah Maupin who m. Hiram N. Stites. She was the d/o George W. Maupin (s/o Thomas & Anna Miller Maupin)... & Emily Dyson Maupin).. Sarah died in Chickasaw Co. or so I've been told.. I have never found a death certificate for her, nor where she is buried. The state of Oklahoma kept my money, but said they couldn't find anything.. I was told that great grandfather made her a wooden stone.. He returned to the MO area with some of his kids .. It surely must have been a sad day to leave her behind.. Her sister and brother stayed in Oklahoma.. I don't have their names in front of me, but I believe the brother was a minister..
