Yes it is a tremendous disappointment! I attended the October 2000 reunion as well. My 85 year old father, Oliver Clay Maupin, Jr. was looking forward to attending the Richmond, Ky reunion this year and I had to tell him it was cancelled. It was hard to explain to him. We visited White Hall and the Maupins who still live on the Daniel Maupin and Margaret Via farm. We chipped in and dedicated tombstones on the farm and it was a deeply touching scene as we sang. Learned a lot from William and others at this Maupin Reunion and was so looking forward to this year. William had asked me if I would like to be part of descendents trying to find where John Maupin (father of John Maupin who married Sylvaney Reid) had lived on Goose Creek.
