There is nothing wrong with a potluck and getting together for a warm family reunion and lots of visiting. If someone wants to spend a year getting something more involved together, bless their hearts, do it! My Fitzpatricks have a reunion in Oklahoma every other year now. Whoever is running it goes to or calls Chickasha about 4 months before to make a deal for motel rooms and a banquet room or other place for the reunion. We've had some wonderful reunions without having to spend a year doing so. All of these reunions have included restaurant cooked meals. Then, every other year the reunion is out here in Redlands on a cousin's estate. We have a wonderful time and a barbecue in the huge park-like backyard.
