All, For someone like myself who does not carry the MAUPIN name ... Is it pronounced MAW-pin (as in "Ma and Pa") or is it MOW-pin (as in "Mow the lawn") ? I've been saying MAW-pin, but I thought I should actually ask those who would really know. I realize that the answer might be "BOTH!", and I'm NOT trying to stir up any debate here, just trying to get the correct pronunciation before I get too used to saying it wrong! Thanks! Michael
Personally, I prefer MAW-pin. I think the MOW-pin is a result of someone half-knowing the French pronunciation MOW-pa (or "pa" as in pan). Every once in a great while, I'll hear someone pronounce it with the French pronunciation & I'm totally surprised when it happens. Usually, folks just stutter like Porky Pig trying to pronounce it & you have to pronounce it for them. My .02 cents worth! By the way, greetings to everyone on the list--my first posting. =) -Andrea Maupin -----Original Message----- From: Michael S.
