Hello to all! Im new to the list and have only recently realized my connection to the Maupin lineage. It is as follows Gabriel Maupin (1664) Daniel Maupin (1700) Jesse Maupin (1740) Mosias Maupin (abt. 1765) William Maupin (1787) Amos Maupin (1832) Martha Ellen Matt Maupin (1854) Essie Shelton (abt. 1891) Myrtle Sullins (1913) William Sinak (1939) Michael Sinak (myself) (1962) My father, William Sinak, has made mention many times over the years of our family having some link to the Cherokee Indians. I have no idea where he heard that, but an internet search for Maupin, Shelton, Sullins and Cherokee does indeed bring back some interesting results. All 3 of those names are in the Cherokee Surname list. As Im new to the list, I apologize if this has been overly discussed, but does anyone know if there is any truth to this Cherokee connection and how/where it takes place? Thanks! Michael
