Bonnie, I found your message about Preston O. Maupin interesting. My gggrandmother Sallee Maupin (Amos, William, Daniel, Gabriel) married Francis Preston McNew in Campbell Co. TN 30 Oct 1844. Since the name "Preston" is somewhat unusual, I wonder if Preston O. Maupin's parents could have come through Campbell Co. Do your records show that he was born in Tennessee? Amos, Overton and others were there. Of course, my quick look at records of those families show no Preston O. Maupin.
