    3. Hi! I read these postings. And get concerned (I can no longer stay quiet.) I checked at the postings @ rootsweb and genealogy.com and saw Albert's latest posting of November 11, 2005. I am/was concerned of his health. I do not know him and figure he's got some years on me. So it is now March and as of his November postings...I do not know how/where he is on things. Is he okay? To me, a family member should keep one informed, beyond their own satisfactions. I do care. He helped me immensely. But also, realize that it seems that he took on the "role" of historian for our GREAT Maupin family and doesn't seem to understand that people are so varied with their internal makeup and feelings that perhaps that somehow he takes "US' as not respecting all the work he does do. But he also doesn't "outreach" us for the help we would like to be, now and in the future. It appears to me, as a descendant of Gabriel, that in Albert's eyes, we should all delagate our feelings as people to him as he has the key to "knowledge" of our GREAT Maupin family. I hope and pray I am wrong. We are human and we are knowledged. I hope he doesn't forget that. Perhaps he, with his wisdom of HIS database AND caring to reach out to those of us seeking, has lost sight of "family". This I do not know. But I also question his reward. I hope he steps up. But then I also realize that perhaps we have become to dependant on his role. That is for him to claim, without predjudice of the human factor of us all being different of which we are. Perhaps he became overwhelmed. I am not a Virginian, ...but I am without a doubt..a MAUPIN~ God bless to him and all of us. (My thoughts as I've seen it thru the months and years...) It appears we would like a Maupin ReUnion, but who of us is willing to step up to the plate? With humilty and respect to him and forever your humble servant within my means. 3. Tamara, My ancestor, Miles Maupin was also from Ohio. Is he connected to your family by any chance? 3. Tamara, A couple of years ago I sent a personal message to William Albertson expressing many of those same concerns. We are "lost" without him. I, indeed, felt great that he was there for me and those I referred to him. I found you, Tony and Debbie, Jackie, Gwen and others who extend from our John "Jack" Maupin through the Rootsweb Maupin L via William. Our line was very weak at that time and it was exciting to know I had many cousins, my mother's uncles and aunts, where they went and their off-spring. There are other cousins from other lines that I miss communicating with as well. Most were gracious and more than willing to help straighten you out when you were confused or "lost" as to who or where the connection was made. The point is Willaim was the "hub" that filled out all the many spokes. If he is ill, and I certainly hope not, I hope he will share his many databases with someone else who is willing to step up and fill the "HUGE" void he has left. If he is not in ill health, I can understand his being tired of carrying the huge workload and all the weight. My hope is that he will return or appoint someone to take over. That very well may mean that several people will be needed to do all the work that he has done for years. I am more than willing to help with some of this work but by no means am I cable of taking on the load he carried. William, we miss you, love you for all the work you did, and hope that you will share all that knowledge that you have accummulated over the years. Now, Ms. Norma J.
