But, as someone on another list said, we'll probably never know who all rode with the James. I don't think many people back at that time did any bragging and a lot of families have covered up a lot of things that genealogist usually wind up stumbling over in amazement! Your John might have been with Quantrill. I've yet to delve into his bio but that is on my list of "TO READ" in the future. Cuz Sandi
