Daniel "Tough" Maupin got custody of his grandchildren when thier mother Delilah Maupin Dulaney and father Willaim Dulaney both died young. Their oldest son, James H. Dulaney b. 2 June 1805, was my ggggrandfather. He came to Howard County, MO and married Ruth C. Woods 17 Jan 1828. My question is, does anyone know how he happened to come to Missouri? Was he possibly bonded to one of the early Maupin's that came to Missouri or did Daniel come to Missouri at one time or another himself and bring James with him and James stayed here? If anyone could help me on this I would certainly appreciate it. Vicki
