Dear Alan and cousins, Could it be interesting to map all these USGS toponyms ? We could also map the occurence of the name Maupin, for today but also for historical data (why not start with Gabriel and Marie). I am sure it could be a very interesting source of information to guide our genealogical efforts. I have all the required equipment for such a task (mainly GIS softwares and a couple of spatial analysis tools). If anyone is interested we could organize a special task force : ) of about 5 or 6 persons to go through all the data structuring process.
