    3. Dear Cousins: Having been on this list for over a year, I remember that this question came up for discussion awhile ago. On most listservs, emails with general information content go to the list while personal notes or specific information between two people are sent to the private email address. The previous discussion on Maupin-L led us to continue to send all emails to the listserv. I enjoy being on the list and reading about the research on all Maupin lines. I would prefer not to get emails that: - are personal in nature and between two individuals - requests for orders of various Maupin products (ie: Please send me a jar of apple butter, postcard, etc.) - tell me when you went to bed at night, what problems you have with your computer, etc. - announce your own retail web site, or any other product you might make and sell This is not meant to be harsh or cruel, I'm just outlining my understanding of email etiquette. So let's try to keep our listserv on topic - Maupin family research! If I see a question or comment on the List and wish to respond to that writer, is it more appropriate to do that using the MAUPIN-L or to just e-mail that writer at their personal email addy? I'm never sure about it, and do differnt things at different times. I noticed that one member was irritated about "one-liners", and I'm just wondering because I don't really know that much about the pros and cons of responding via the MAUPIN-L. Can somebody please enlighten me? Thanks, Denise ==== MAUPIN Mailing List ==== Personalized Mailing Lists: never miss a connection again. <http://pml.rootsweb.com> Brought to you by RootsWeb.com
