It is possible that I am descended from this line. I cannot trace my great grandfather George W. Moppin , who married Emma Sanders in Owen Co.,KY 1883. George was born around 1857 in Morgan Co.,KY. Something happened to George after his marriage to Emma and the birth of 2 children. He and Emma had 2 children: my grandfather Burghett Moppin-Maupins??? and Georgia Moppin McClain. Emma later remarried to JW McDaniel and had 4 other children by McDaniel: William, C.C., Emma and Annie. It was rumored in the family that George W. was hanged(no written proof anywhere I can find) for horse stealing. Don't know where or when this supposedly occurred.
