William, where are you when I need you! John Harris Maupin was my John Maupin's first cousin. My John was the son of Dabney Maupin~Sarah "Sally" Dennis and he married Mary Jane Williams. Also, thinking about it, since the Maupin boys ran with Quantrill, that would be the link with the James boys. They might just have been buddies.
