BORN MAY 1875 MARY SUSAN BORN 1877. >> The marriage date for Pleasant and his 3rd wife is 12 Jan 1866. Now if there were no children of that first marriage- the children born between 1852 ( when he married 2nd wife Mary Jane Batten) and 1866 ( when he maried 3rd wife Eliza(beth) Ann Sandridge ( she was the widow of Clifton Wood) are the children of Mary Jane Batten. I wonder about the date of birth for the son- William Wood Maupin- Wood as a middle name makes me tend to believe that he was the son of Eliza(beth)- her mother was a Wood. I know that this is pure conjecture on my part. Is his date taken from the census? It's hard enough keeping all the Maupin men straight- all the Gabriels, Davids, Daniels :). It's as bad as the Ballards- all the Thomas', Blands and Annas!! Appreciate any help with this family. Thanks, Linda
I tend to believe that William Wood(Wood as the last name) was indeed the son of Clifton Wood and Eliza(Beth) Sandridge Wood. On the Albemarle Co Va 1900 census Her son, James David Maupin has in his home a nephew, Howard Wood which would probably be the son of his half brother William.Thank you for clarifying the marriage date of 1866,not 1886. I don't have too much else on the family of Pleasant MAUPIN, just that it appears they stayed pretty much in Albemarle Co Va. Pauline
