John Burch Sr married 1st unknown married 2nd Judith Maupin Epperson, widow of David Epperson Jr who died 1777 John Burch Jr, [son of John Burch Sr and unknown], married Jane Epperson [d/o David Epperson Sr and Hannah Thompson and sister of David Epperson Jr] 17 Jan 1786 in Albemarle Co VA. John Burch Jr and Jane Epperson had the following children as stated in John Burch Jr's will 1837, Montgomery Co KY 1. Mary [Polly] Burch Maupin: married Bennett Maupin [s/o Matthew Maupin and Lucy Ballard] 3 Oct 1808 in Alb Co VA, she was deceased by 1837 and 50 dollars and no more were to be divided by her 3 children, names not listed. I believed she died many years before 1837. 2. Nancy Burch Maupin: married Carr Maupin [s/o John Maupin and Francis Dabney] 2 Aug 1813 in Alb Co VA. They resided in Montgomery/Bath Co's KY. 3. David Burch 4. William Burch 5. John S Burch 6. Hannah Burch Nichols 7. Daniel Burch 8. James W Burch 9. Sarah Burch Oakley my gg grandmother in her obit it states that "she was born in Albemarle Co., VA., Aug. 20, 1809. At the age of 6, she migrated to Bath County, Kentucky, where she resided until 1838. She married E. S. Oakley, July 9, 1829. The family moved to Putnam Co., Indiana, in 1838 and in 1852 they moved to Effingham County, locating near Mason, Il." It is interesting to note that Caleb Maupin s/o Carr Maupin and Nancy Burch also removed to Putnam Co IN. I posted the wills of John Burch Sr and Judith Maupin Epperson Burch, 24 July 2000 to the Maupin list. I believe confusion lies with Jane Burch being listed as a daughter in Judith Maupin Epperson Burch's will along with Hannah Epperson Sandidge and Anna Epperson Gardner. I feel that since Jane Epperson Burch was Judith's step daughter and former sister in law they had a close relationship ergo that is why she was mentioned. When in Virginia this fall I found the distribution of Judith Maupin Epperson Burch's will and Jane Burch was not included at all.
