    2. Maupin Reunion
    3. Good Morning, Group!!! Just reviewing some of the original documents on John and Sally Maupin and I thought I would tell everyone that Sally signed her name in two ways on John's estate receipts. She signed "Sally" and "Sallie", so either apparently is correct according to her own hand. It is very, very probable that there is another daughter Sarah (Sally) Maupin who was marriet to Isaac Hollingsworth, then Edward Applegate and last to Elijah Griffin. The is probably going to be one other missing daughter, Margaret. Still working on her. The marriage records for these two daughters are yet to be found, but the early work of a descendant says there were eleven children. Three of the Hollingsworth's were involved with John Maupin's estate settlement in 1824, John and William were apprasiers with Howard Maupin. Beasley Hollingsworth purchased items and the sale of John's belongings. These three Hollingsworth were brother to Isaac Hollingsworth the (by 1824) deceased husband of Sarah Maupin. These Hollingsworth's father was Vincent Hollingsworth and their mother was Mary Beasley. Other children of this family married names you will recognize as married to other John Maupin descendants. Martha Hollingsworth married Lemuel Lunsford and Winny Hollingworth! married Stephen Reed. I am still working on this Vincent Hollingsworth family and linking the many descendants to the Maupin descendants of Clay County, Kentucky. William Albertson [email protected]

    3. Good Morning Bill, and Cousins, Happy to hear you are still working on the Maupin, Crosthwaite and Hollingsworth lines. When I have "spare time", the Albemarle Co. Johnson/Via and the Hollingsworth/Reed/Reid are the lines I am concentrating on currently. I also have the J. Maupin estate settlement - and know the Hollingsworth, Reed (Reid), Hensley, Hubbards all intermarried. I need to travel to TN and KY (probably next July). I am also working on theory that Rhoda Reed (dtr of Stephen) was of the Cherokee nation. That may be hard to actually prove as we have been attending powwows and have spoken to many N.A. and have been told that if she "left the reservation willingly" and became "white" (or sometime black on the census) that she was "disowned" by the tribe. Isn't this fun - but that is what keeps us going - "that hidden piece of the puzzle".
