    3. Dear Jackie, Thank you for letting us know. I think William should at least told someone to post it to our Rootsweb Maupin link so that those of us who volunteered would have had a clue. I have done nothing to make him angry and only wanted to help. Norma --------------------------------- Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page

    3. I found this obituary in the Falls Church newspaper. Bonnie Maupin Huth San Antonio, Texas Martha Jane Maupin Larson (Jane)—Muralist, Illustrator Born July 25, 1929—Died August 1, 2005 Jane Maupin Larson died on August 1, 2005 at home in Jacksonville, Florida due to complications from diabetes. She was born in Glasgow, MO to Dale and Leona Maupin. An interest in the visual arts developed in early childhood led her to the University of Kansas City in 1948, where she excelled in classic portraiture and stagecraft, eventually studying under master muralist Thomas Hart Benton. She moved to the City of Falls Church from Duluth, MN with her husband and family in 1963. While raising six children, she taught art part time in local public and private schools while executing numerous commissioned portraits and illustrations. Her murals appear in several schools, private homes, businesses and public buildings throughout the Washington area. She began the Art in the Park program at Cherry Hill Park in 1971 to encourage local artists by providing an opportunity to exhibit their work in a public, yet serene setting. She donated her artistic talent freely to innumerable charities and community projects and was active in many organizations, including the Cherry Hill Poets, The League of Women Voters, The Democratic Women’s Club, The Business and Professional Women’s Organization and the American Civil Liberties Union. She was a communicant of the World-wide Anglican Church. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 56 years, Dale E. Larson, in May, 2005. She leaves her children, Christopher E. Larson of Whitethorn, CA, Dr. Anna K. Parsons of Tampa, FL, Nicholas G. Larson of Sacramento, CA, Mary Larson-Garcia of Jacksonville, FL, Andrew B. Larson of Gaithersburg, MD and Sarah Larson-Bostedt of Oakland, CA. She also leaves four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Larson will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Church of the Ascension and St. Agnes, 12 the & Massachusetts Ave., NW Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Riley Stiles Library. -----Original Message----- From: jdwatson [mailto:jdwatson@erols.com] Sent: Saturday, August 06, 2005 7:09 AM To: MAUPIN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: @WL [MAUPIN-L] Jane Maupin Larson Obit There's an obit in the Wash Post this morning for Jane Maupin Larson born in Glasgow, Missouri. Wow is he fast Bonnie: He has been traveling all over to research and he also has people who sit at decks to help with what can be found without traveling. He does work fast! He is the ultimate researcher and loves getting tons of info to look over and verify and add to. He already sent me some corrections and additions. The only thing he doesn't do fast is type! He uses just one finger, for some reason so he has a typist. He did this on the book I have that include my Garrard family. He told me I had all kinds of time to get my stuff together. I like getting stuff like this finished so I can go on to other projects and it's good I'm that way. Next thing I knew, he emailed and said he was taking the book to the printers as soon as he received my information and photos! Gotta watch that man! Cuz Sandi
