The Maupins were from France. They were Huguenots who fled France. Gabriel went to Amsterdam where he married Marie Hersent. They came to America in 1700 on the ship LeNassau. Settled in Virginia. From there many branches left and went westward while others stayed in Virginia. Judy

She married Bartholomew Spence in August 22, 1839 in Williamson county, Tennessee. I haven't been able to locate them on the 1850. Here are census records I do have for her.
