    3. Thx for posting this wonderful Maupin info. Mrs & Mrs Robt W. Maupin were my grandparents and Mrs. & Mrs. Denham Maupin my parents. The Robt W. Maupins are buried in Fairlawn Cemetery in OKla City, Denham Maupin died in Alexandria and his ashes are in Arlington National Cemetery and Mary Beth Roper Maupin (my mother) is now 84. 2. Thanks for the MAUPIN postings.. I am related to the line in Franklin Co. MO.. John was a brother of a gggg ... grandfather... (whatever)... My line went to Oklahoma in the early 1900s.. some stayed, some went back to MO. My great grandmother was Sarah Maupin who m. Hiram N. Stites. She was the d/o George W. Maupin (s/o Thomas & Anna Miller Maupin)... & Emily Dyson Maupin).. Sarah died in Chickasaw Co. or so I've been told.. I have never found a death certificate for her, nor where she is buried. The state of Oklahoma kept my money, but said they couldn't find anything.. I was told that great grandfather made her a wooden stone.. He returned to the MO area with some of his kids .. It surely must have been a sad day to leave her behind.. Her sister and brother stayed in Oklahoma.. I don't have their names in front of me, but I believe the brother was a minister.. Surnames: Maupin, Blessing, Thomas, Sexton Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XEz.2ACEB/156.193.205.206.211.1 Message Board Post: FYI, Dickinson's book "8th Virginia Cavalry" p. 95, lists Lindsey in the index as "Private, Co. A., wounded in action at Guyandotte" (Cabell Co. WV). The index also states he is not listed in the compiled service records but is listed in the 1880s Hardesty. I was personally curious about the Maupins due to a connection with my husband's lines via the Blessings/Thomases of Mason Co. WV, and also because of an association with the Maupins in Cabell Co. WV with my Sexton line; my gg grandfather was 8th VA Cav Co. E and is buried at the Maupin Cem. in Cabell Co. WV. I was looking primarily to determine who Lindsey's parents were and what connection they might have, if any, to the Cabell County Maupins.

    3. Hi All: I'm getting bounce notices from Rootsweb for subscribers to various lists. Why? Because their mail boxes are full. So, I can't email them privately to let them know. Please make sure you don't let your mail boxes fill up to capacity so that you wind up being bounced off a Rootsweb list. Thanks, Sandi List mom

I was told several years ago that Allen Irvin Brown's dad name was James and that he married two sisters 1st to Mary Adams and than when she died he married her sister Lucy Adams. my ggrandfather Allen was only about 4 years old when his mother died. I was led to believe that he had older siblings and I know that he had a younger brother Joseph who married Erica Steel daughter of Noah Steel. I was also told that Allen was raised by an Uncle Allen Brown. I believe that my ggrandfather is buried in the same lot as an Allen Brown and his wife at the Labadie Cemetery. We were there a few years ago and found the grave but had a hard time locating it. I would like to know more about Allen's parents if I can find out about them. My grandfather was Allen's son William Benjamin, He died in 1920 and is buried in Dilworth Okla. So he was gone before I was born ,my father was only a small child at that time he was the youngest in his family. my father's mother died when he was young also and he was raised by an older brother. My grandmother was Sarah Jane Bailey who was a gggranddaughter of Mosias Maupin. so you can see that I have an interest on both sides any help would be greatly appreciated. The dates listed for the James in this Bible would make him only about 18 or 20 when my ggrandfatther was born if he were my ggrandfather's father, I know that is possible but I was led to believe that Allen had older siblings. Could this James be an older brother of Allen. Thank you Alice Quick
