Seems like there was a recent discussion regarding Armistead Maupin. There was an article in the local newspaper (Statesman Journal, October 22, 2000, Salem, Oregon) yesterday. He has a new book out "The Night Listener". He will be appearing in Portland, Oregon at the First Unitarian Church, 1011 SW 12th Ave on Wednesday 7:30 p.m. to read from his works and speak with the audience. Armistead lives in San Francisco, Ca. Judy
Hi Cousins: Our flag/banner is ready to fly and the binder is just about ready for the "show and tell" at the picnic. I want to give special thanks to Lois Bozarth for sharing old family photos for the picnic. Especially for her e-mail photo of Martha Maupin (which one you ask?), daughter of Perry Maupin (which one you ask?). This is the line and Martha was a first cousin to my GG granddaddy, John Maupin who married Mary Jane Williams. GABRIEL MAUPIN~MARIE HERSENT DANIEL MAUPIN~MARGARET VIA JOHN MAUPIN~FRANCES DABNEY JOHN MAUPIN, SR.~SARAH CROSSTHWAITE PERRY MAUPIN~RACHEL BRADLEY MARTHA MAUPIN~JOHN SIDDON Also, cousin "Frenchie" DePriest gets a big special thanks for e-mailing some of his old family photos. We have another Perry Maupin in this line who was also a first cousin to Martha and my John. HOW ABOUT THEM APPLES? LOL The line is: GABRIEL MAUPIN~MARIE HERSENT DANIEL MAUPIN~MARGARET VIA JOHN MAUPIN~FRANCES DABNEY JOHN MAUPIN, SR.~SARAH CROSSTHWAITE THOMAS MAUPIN~SARAH WARD PERRY MAUPIN~EMILY A. CADLE I do think I flubbed on a very good idea! Should have asked for photos of old ones to take with to the picnic. Am sure there will be other picnics and would like to get started on old photos anyone else has. If you send me a photo, please send the direct line, as above, down from Gabriel~Marie. Merci Beaucoup, Cousin Sandi :)
Hey gang, I have some information on the Perry MAUPIN and Emily Armilda CADEL family. Anyone interested I'll share what I have, but after I get back from Charlottesville. Some of the girls lived here in Iola. -- Loren <kycollja@midusa.net> {:-)> HOKC *))))) TSG, USAF, Retired From Iola, in the rolling hills of SE Kansas
I feel so bad that I can't be there on Sunday. My daughter and grandson are staying with me for a while and they were going to come to the picnic but the little one (10 months old) has infections in both ears and is just miserable at the moment. Tell everyone "hello" for me and count me in if you plan another picnic in the spring or summer. Kathy
I'm bad, I know. I just printed out the e-mail photos of "Dad" and "Perry" and can't find who sent them to me. Please forgive me! I am going to put those photos in the binder I'm taking to the Maupin picnic in Santa Barbara this Sunday and need the family line down from GABRIEL MAUPIN~MARIE HERSENT. Please e-mail me by tomorrow morning. Thank you! Embarrassed in California, Cousin Sandi :(
Hi Maupin Cousins: This will be the last time you'll have to see this invitation! LOL I wanted to remind those going to be there this Sunday! My binder of "stuff" is just about finished and the flag needs to be ironed and then we are set! Am really getting excited about the picnic and hope you all are, also! Anyone needing directions, please e-mail Susan or myself. Best, Cousin Sandi :) YOU ARE INVITED TO A MAUPIN FAMILY PICNIC 22 October 2000 11 AM - ? Dear William, I've been off-line for some time and now want to be sure that I can get all of the material available after the reunion. I know that you have probably had this question many times, but do I need to send a check now for this material? I will not be able to attend the reunion. Thank you so much, Ann Prichard Amarillo, TX
Hi Mosbycat & other Cousins: I've encosed information from the Maupin-L archives Cousin Loren was kind enough to send back in June. I hope this answers questions as to what is going to happen and when at the reunion. BTW, to get to the Maupin-L archives go to this URL, enter Maupin and click "submit." Dear William, Some time ago you announced the passing of a Gary Maupin age 53. Also, sometime ago, there was a Gary Maupin looking for relatives of his father Shelby. My fathers brother was Shelby, Whose father was Sherman, is that the same Gary Maupin that passed away? I am in the hopes of having my computer within the week. I am currently using a friends and local library until then. I need to send money for the things I have ordered but have missplaced the forms and address. Is her obit listed with the Maupin obits? Can you tell me where they are from? I realize you are busy perhaps someone else has this information? Hope to be back on line soon. J. Miller
Hello Sandi, Can either you or William give a general time frame for events on Thurs., Fri. and Saturday? I will be staying with friends in Harrisonburg, Va., and would like to know times that we will be coming and going, so to speak. Good Afternoon!!! Those who attend the Reunion will get first choice on all the items available. I will have to stay over a couple of days and print and bind enough to fill the orders that come by mail. Those who ordered please be patient. I did not want to print too many in advance because of the transportation and space available in my van. I will try very hard to process all the order I have received before I leave the White Hall area. Hi William & other Cousins: RootsWeb does not allow attachments to be sent to lists so your message came to me. I suggest anyone wanting the attachment for hotels to e-mail the list and I will send it to each person privately to help William, who I know is super busy getting ready for the reunion. Dear William, I want a copy of all five of the reunion books. Since I am attending the reunion, I thought I could just pay for and pick them up there, so have not sent my order and check to you. When I saw your comment in your recent message that you only had a limited amount printed, I became concerned that maybe I should quickly mail my order and check to you at the White Hall address. Do you have some set aside for those of us who are attending? Please advise. See you the 25th. Cousin Lorraine

Hi William, I will be able to attend the reunion and have not sent my registration card and fee. Do I still send that to the Missouri address? Thanks, Donna Maupin
