I don't know her middle name, but I found them listed in the 1860 Morgan County Census, Elizabeth age 21. There is also a William Maupin listed in the 1860 Bath County Census, age 48, wife Sarah, also 48, children, Robert M.19, Frank 17, Taylor 14, Thomas 12, Westerfield 8, & George 3. I don't know if this is the same William, but my great grandfather was named Taylor Power, so it may well be. Thanks again, Michael Powers

Williams~Margaret Toulmin Garrard. They were the parents of my GG grandma, Mary Jane [Williams] Maupin. Sidney's father was William WILLIAMS and was in the War of 1812 in VA. I did a check on the net of William Williams in the War of 1812 and ONLY came up with 285 men! Why weren't those people more creative in naming their children, for Pete's sake? If I find out anything I'll try to remember to let you know. That family is ONE HUGE BRICK WALL! Best, Cuz Sandi
Hi Sandi, I realize this is an old email but I wanted to get in touch with you. My ggrandmother was Eady Catherine Williams, she had Sarah Ellen. Eady married Millard Delph from Clay County, KY in 1884 and Sarah was six at the time. Would any of your Williams information tell me whether Eady Catherine was born a Williams or if you married a Williams and had Sarah Ellen??? They lived in Whitley County and a son, John Delph was born. Sarah Ellen is my grandmother and she married Solomon Sears and they lived in Whitley County. My cousin did the research on the Sears/' line about eight years ago but was unable to located anything on Eady Catherine Williams. Thanks, Norma Sears, Williams, Maupin, Shelton, etc.. Something that I found interesting at the reunion was this. A man who is head of the Chenault family assn (or something like that) was talking abou how the Chenaults & Mullinses always seemed to be around the Maupins. But what I found really interesting was a man who came over on the boat before the one Gabriel came on (the Nassau) was named Jean Moreau (my spelling?), and this Jean Moreau sort of helped Gabriel and was instrumental in him getting the job as keeper of the powder magazine. Is this new info, or have I just not heard it before? Denise

I found the reunion very enjoyable myself, and I know that it was a heck of a lot of work for Bill. I wonder when we'll have the next one and when it will be???? Love, Denise

I'm hoping Dorothy will wait until the book list is "complete" and we need to set a deadline on when it will be closed. Also, we need to know if the $ will be collected before books are sent out.
