My grandmother was Emma Zetta Maupin. William sent me my line and I have searched my email and cannot find it. I guess my computer just ate it. I know I am not from the same line as you are, but it is strange how you keep seeing the same family names weave through the history of all of the Maupins. I am just starting to search my fathers family. His mother Emma was born around 1873 in Missouri. Phyllis Abbott
Phyllis, This is strange since I too am Phyllis. You're never too old if you have the will to do something. I work 16 to 18 hours a day and I'm 50. I didn't start into design until I was 37. Patrick, Sounds like a great idea, and I wish I could participate. I start a tour of Kosovo this month until April. Then making a move from Germany to California in May. We could also map the occurence of the name Maupin, for today but also for historical data (why not start with Gabriel and Marie). I am sure it could be a very interesting source of information to guide our genealogical efforts. I have all the required equipment for such a task (mainly GIS softwares and a couple of spatial analysis tools). If anyone is interested we could organize a special task force : ) of about 5 or 6 persons to go through all the data structuring process. Maybe by next summer we could have a product available to the Maupin community ...
