    1. Re: [MAUPIN-L] Bennett MAUPIN
    2. Good afternoon William, I have a copy of Judith Maupin Epperson Burch's will- proven 6 June 1837. In it she names daughters Hannah Sandridge, Anna Gardner and Jane Burch. She also names granddaughters Sarah Jane Sandridge ( my g g g grandmother) and Judith America Gardner. If Mary died in 1827 this would explain why she isn't in the will. She does not mention her husband, John Burch in the will. Martin Maupin, Tilmon I. Maupin and William Harris witnessed her will. Going over the will again, I see where after she list her bequests to the above 3 daughters and 2 granddaughters- she leaves the balance of her estate to " be divided into two equal lots and a lot given to each of my two daughters ( to wit) Anna Gardner and Hannah Sandridge". Now, John Burch's will, proven 4 July 1837 he names the following children: John Burch Jr George Burch Charles Burch Daniel Burch Polly Mabery Hanna Burch Henry Burch He leaves them all one dollar. He mentions his grandaughter Hannah Burch and his step-son-in-law Dillard Sandridge ( husband of step-daughter Hannah Epperson). The balance of his estate to go to his wife Judith Burch. Now- here's what we need to know ( and we're hoping that you might know!): When did Judith Maupin Epperson marry John Burch?- we know it was after 1777, but not when. And what was the 3rd daughter's name? So far we have Mary and Jane ( but notice that Jane wasn't mentioned in John's will). Linda

    2. MAUPIN REUNION 2000
    3. Good Afternoon!!! Good Question!! Remember that some of the early marriages in Albe Co. could be by marriage "banns" and not marriage "bonds". Also remember there is a dark cloud over Judith's life. Something is very wrong "socially" on her line. She was apparently an "outcast" in the Maupin family. These things makes this line very interesting and will require a great deal of research. I call these types of families "colorful". They are the most rewarding when the covered up facts are finally discovered after some 200 years. You need to be a real good detective and take it slow and prove each step. 3. Good Aftrernoon!! The first, Caleb is the son of Carr Maupin and Jane Burch. I have only recently completed almost all of this line. 2. MAUPIN REUNION 2000
    3. Good Morning, Again, Group!!! Hope you all do not get tired of my constant list of messages. THANKS TO A VERY GENEROUS LONG TIME MAUPIN FAMILY MEMBER; FROM NOW ON ALL OF THE BOOKLETS AND ITEMS AVAILABLE FROM ME ON THE MAUPIN FAMILY WILL BE PRINTED ON A LASER JET PRINTER. THIS PROCESS IS FAR BETTER THAN INKJET SINCE IT IS A HEAT FUSED PROCESS AND IS MORE WATER SAFE THAN INKJET. THE MAUPIN NEWSLETTER, WHICH WILL BE FIRST PUBLISHED IN MARCH WILL NOW BE MORE DURABLE. THE BEST PART ABOUT THIS GIFT, IS THAT AFTER A COST ANALYSIS, IT IS CHEAPER TO OPERATE THAN THE INKJET. WILLIAM

    3. Good Morning!!! I had to stay over in Charlottesville ten extra days to process the orders. I processed those orders that I had all the items for first. As I ran out of items I had to reprint them or go to the Post Office and get additional envelopes. I still have two or three orders that there were problems with, they will be processed this next week. Please let me know if your order has not been received, or was incorrect. The Bio of Daniel Maupin is yet unfinished. I sub most orders with other items, if this is not satisfactory let me know. The Bio will be finished by the June Reunion. I needed to include several documents that I had not had the time to transcribe. 3. Good Morning!!! Also, I will be updating each page by sending out questionaires to those on that page. Will start with the first page. I need the line complete down eight generations. If the person does not respond by June 1, 2001, their name will be deleted. The arrangement by family group makes it easier to correspond with those who are closest to you. Plan to start updating December 1. Those of you on line who are complete will not receive a notice, but if I am needing information I will be contacting you sometime in the future. 3. Good Morning!!! Will be adding page numbers after the dust clears on corrections. From that point on all additions will have a letter added to that page. For example, after June 1, 2001, there will be a page 1A, or perhaps a 1A and 1B. This will help show those who have been added since the original book. Eventually an index will be added at the end. This is a "work in process" project, with updates and improvements each year. 3. Good Morning!!! Got a problem here!!! Mary Burch was the daughter of John Burch and Judith Maupin Epperson Burch. I have Mary's death as 1827 Nicholas Co., Ky. She was one of three children, (all girls) born to John Burch and Judith Maupin Epperson Burch; but this is still in need of work and verification. I do not think Mary and Bennett married in Kentucky, however, it is doubtful that Mary Burch would go to Kentucky alone, or with half brothers and leave her parents in Albemarle County. Please comment!!! Several of the Burch boys went to Kentucky, along with the Eppersons. 2. MAUPIN REUNION 2000
    3. Good Morning Group!!! Back home, back online!!! Now I can correct and adjust all those errors I made at the Reunion on booklets, directories, reservations, pictures, etc. If you have or need corrections or adjustments please e-mail me privately. Now back the the name "Pleasant". For about ten years I searched for the "Pleasant" family connection, found none!! Then while working in the White Hall area was informed that the large plantation of the Wyant/Wiant family was named "Pleasant Retreat". The Wyants did not use this name in their family, but several of the families owning land with a two mile radius did. The Maupins, Ewells, Jarmans, and Ballards. The Ewell parcel adjoined this plantation. Shelton Key is on this Ewell line. I have it almost complete, then I found that someone had given me so information that was not accurate. Maxey Ewells wife was Ann Mullins, but she was not Matthews daughter, she was John Mullin's daughter. So now I have over three thousand people who are not Maupins. Well I plan to share them with Shelton Keys, so all my work was not go unused. 1. Re: [MAUPIN-L] Just a thought
    2. Sure I'll make it public. Let me know. FYI: the type is small (probably a very old typewriter) and the pages a little discolored, making it a little hard to read. Linda

    1. [MAUPIN-L] MAUPIN BOOK LIST
    2. Hi Cousins: I know that some of you who went to the VA reunion signed a book list Dorothy had. I don't have a copy of that list. So if you don't see your name on the one I post now and then, that is why. It can't hurt to put your names on the MAUPIN-L book list also as Dorothy will get that from Bill. That won't mean you have signed up for double the number of books you want. Best, Cuz Sandi
