    3. Good Evening to all interested Maupins. Re: Maupin lines into the Jamestowne Society: This is very appropriate for the Maupin descendents. I mentioned to Bill in a previous email that I was a member of council of the National Jamestowne Society, a long time member of The First Texas Company . The Jamestowne Society is working toward the 400th anniversary (2007) of this great country in Jamestowne, VA. As Bill stated regarding the Ballard line and probably many other lines which can be found on the website --www.jamestowne.com, please remember that membership into the Society is by "invitation only" by a current member and must be sponsored by that member. I am a member of council and the National Companies Committee Chairman (organizing new companies). I also help prospective members in any way I can or direct them the someone in their immediate area. If you review the above webpage and find an ancestor listed and have a good start on the documentation, please contact me directly concerning the Jamestowne Society membership at cafarmer@wt.net . I will see how I can assist. Thank you... To busy trying to keep up with the Maupin stuff - but do think I have a letter on some of the Jarman's yet to get to today - may attach it when I get there. No lock it was the NC web page. We will get you as cousins yet!! Linda V.

    3. Good Morning!!! Dorothy Snead has a personal copy of the book and she copied all the pages that have the Maupin information on them. I can send to anyone who would like as soon as I find them. You can not believe all the boxes of papers I have around here to file. Apparently the Beshore family is not interested in the Maupin family, as they were invited to the reunion, but heard no reply. This book was the diary of Michael Beshore who was an MD during and after the Civil War. He was the personal doctor of THE KIT CARSON, who was from Madison County, KY apparently. Also, John Harris Maupin and Rachael his second wife lived with Michael and Ann until the died. I am currently planning a research trip to Trinidad, CO to work on this family. 3. Good Morning William and all: I thought I had a direct line to the MAUPIN Family via the Thomas JARMAN (JERMAN), b. abt. 1777; d. 12/1843 in Madison County, KY; m. 10 July 1802 in Madison County, KY, Lucretia FREEMAN. However, there are several Thomas JARMANS. Thomas JARMAN, (Per William: b. 11-28-1785 Albemarle Co., VA; d. 9-12-1868); m. 24/03/1814 in Fluvanna Co., VA, Nancy KEY. I still believe a direct line may exist, or at the least a collateral tie. I have communicated with Linda (JARMAN) VALENTINE regarding the Thomas JARMANS & the JARMAN line. I would sure appreciate any help with these Thomas JARMANS (JERMANS)! I also discovered this AM, that I have at least a collateral tie to the MAUPIN Family via the CREWS Family of Madison Co., KY. Those ties are applicable to the 29/09/1808 marriage bond in Madison Co., KY between Betsy MAUPIN (Dau. of Daniel MAUPIN & ????) and David CREWS (Son of Thomas CREWS). Can anyone tell me who this Daniel MAUPIN'S wife is, and their respective ancestries and descendancies? I discovered an 20/10/1916 obit in my pile of papers for a Mrs. Mary MAUPIN CREWS, who died in Armstrong, Howard Co., MO, and who has many relatives in Madison Co. She is survived by several children, her husband having preceded her to the grave several years. Can anyone provide the MAUPIN-CREWS ancestry and descendancy for Mary, her ??? husband and children? I am also related directly to the CREWS Family via my 3rd g grandfather, Edward F. JARMAN (JERMAN) (Son of the Thomas JARMAN (JERMAN) above.). There are just too many commonalties for me not to be kin to all you wonderful MAUPIN folks! Gotta Be! Wanta Be! <BG> But, I need some hep! 1. [MAUPIN-L] ATTENTION JESSE MAUPIN DESCENDANTS-RESEARCH GROUP TO BE FORMED
    2. MAUPIN REUNION 2000
    3. Good Morning, Group!!! For many years I have neglected my own line working on various other lines. I have now came upon new information indicating that Jesse and Lucy went to Surry County, NC in 1778 after selling the Maupin Homeplace. Jesse next appears in Henry County, VA in 1782 on the Tax Rolls. The purpose of this Research Group is to discover just where Jesse and Lucy lived for these missing years. The Research Group would be composed of from 4-6 persons who would work together collecting and examine records and discussing their opinions as to the data that has been found. After adequate data and documents have been collected and a discussion between the members of the research group the conclusions of the findings as well as the copies of the supporting documents will be published in a booklet that will be available reasonable fee. Each person doing research will keep a log or a list of the out of pocket expenditures for the copies, postage, etc they have incurred during the research project. After the project is finished the sale of the booklets will be used to re-imburse these people for their expenses. If you would be interested in serving on this "JESSE MAUPIN MISSING YEARS" research group please e-mail me privately at maupinreunion@par1.net. I have alread started on this project and it looks as though it will not be a difficult one to do. Hope to hear from any Jesse and Lucy descendant interested in this poject. William

    2. Oh boy,,,, ROSCOE LEE MAUPIN was my greatgrandfather. He died before I was born but his wife CLARA FLORENCE FRANCIS STICE, Granny as I called her lived with us until her death in 1966. ROSCOE LEE was born in Maud, Missouri on February 28, 1869 and died on January 26, 1944. He is buried in Clarence, Missouri next to Granny and next to my grandfather ROSCOE JAMES MARION MAUPIN and his second wife ( my grandmother ) GERTRUDE ISABELLE BURNS DILLMAN MAUPIN. I grew up calling all of ROSCOE LEE'S children my aunts and uncles and even have a video of Grannys 80th birthday party on our family farm near Bellflower, Mo. in 1956 with all of ROSCOE LEE'S children on it. Although I have many pictures of Granny and their children I have never saw a picture of ROSCOE LEE. All of his children have passed away but I know a lot about them. Please contact me directa at " kacyjim@aol.com ". Thanks,, I was so happy to see your e mail. Also their is a woman " katande@aolcom " who is online who is the great grandaughter of Charles Morris Maupin. Please contact me. Jim Dillman kacyjim@aol.com
