Good Evening, Group!!! This is probably the Gabriel Maupin, II's line that remained in Williamsburg. The later descendants lived in Portsmouth. Good Afternoon!!! Have contacted the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and have ordered a copy of the offical report on the "Nassau Street Dig". I will be receiving a copy within the next ten days. After I read the copyright information and contact the writer, I will post as much of the report as is legally possible. For those of us working on the Williamsburg Research Project, this will be provided to you for your research. Also, have received from the Masons a copy of the burial at Bruton Parish Churchyard. In this listing is the half brother of Thomas Crease, Thomas Hornsby. It states that Hornsby was born in Lincolnshire, England. This is where I plan to begin searching for the family of Thomas Crease. It is very probably that Thomas Crease was about 10-15 years younger than Marie Hersent Maupin. I am in hopes that I can contact someone who workes on this Crease line that may know something of Marie and Thomas that we do not know. This will be the last posting for today, don't want to jam up you e-mail with too many items. William
Good Afternoon!!! Thanks to Bob Maupin, of Frankston, TX, a very fine video exists of the three-day Maupin Reunion in Virginia. He has generously provided me with a copy of this fine video and it anyone would like to view this video I would be willing to share this with anyone who wishes to see it. All that I ask is that you take good care of the video, only keep it no more than two weeks and pay the postage both ways. I will purchase a mailer for the video and provide mailing labels for it. Bob has ask that the video not be duplicated because of the possibility of a bad copy being made. If anyone wishes their own copy of this video they can contact Bob Maupin at bobpin@flash.net. He is looking into the possibility of having additional copies made and will soon know the cost of the reproduced videos. I plan to take my copy to the June Reunion in Fulton, for anyone to view if they so wish. I will also bring a television on which to view it. There for I will not circulate the video after May 15, and require that it be returned to me by that date. William
______________________________ Bill: We also received the tape from Bob and thought it was wonderful the way he spliced the singing group on the end. Got a little weepy. Those were our two daughters who were giggling and taking the pictures of Bob and Barbara. Both girls thought B & B were great people. We appreciated the attention they gave Cathy and Melody. Made their days very pleasant. Cathy says that Barbara is a riot! Bettye (Mrs. Max Gail) Maupin-Rolla MO - mgm148@rollanet.org P.S. It will be interesting to know if Dru got a good video. ______________________________________ >Good Afternoon!!! > >Thanks to Bob Maupin, of Frankston, TX, a very fine video exists of >the three-day Maupin Reunion in >Virginia. Good Afternoon!!! For those of you who were not at the Reunion, I would like to mention that Dorothy Snead of Roswell, NM was there. Dorothy and I have been friends for some fourteen years or so. She is a lovely person and this was the first time that I had had the pleasure of meeting her. She is the great grandaughter of John Rice Maupin. Strangely enough she knew almost nothing of John Rice and his past when I first contacted her. She has since that time become very interested in her Great grandfather. Family members were not all told of his early life and apparently his later and last years were that of a quiet business man operating a ferry on the Red River. When the information about is early life is posted and put out in printed form I am sure you will all understand the events that led up to his somewhat "wild" character. I will try within the next few weeks start posting information on this man and his family. He has been one of the Maupins in which a great number has expressed a desire to more informed. William
