Please share this info with us when you find it. Mary >> Hi Mary: As Bonnie said, J. D. Maupin's parents must be Carr and Nancy who are on page 231. You will get the hang of how Dorothy did the book. But, the easiest way to have all the information at your finger tips is to enter it all in your computer genealogy information as I am. As Loren said, not all names are listed in the index. On the computer you will have a complete index! Enjoy your book! Cuz Sandi

At this time I have not found the name of John Burch Sr's first wife. John Burch Sr didn't marry Judith Maupin Epperson until after 1777( the date of death for her first husband- David Epperson Jr). So far, we know of 1 child for Judith and John- Jane, who is not named in her father's will, but is named in her mother's. Linda

Kathy Kathy, once when I was stumped this same way, I found my ancestor had gone to California to search for gold. You might try the census in California or even Colorado as there were dormitories of gold miners---lots of men living that way. Pat

    3. On page 231, bottom paragraph Carr Maupin is referred to incorrectly as son of Robert and Mary MeGehee MAUPIN. I believe this Carr is the son of John and Frances Dabney MAUPIN as noted on page 231 "Carr(25)". I have listed John Dabney Maupin (born 27 July 1814) as Carr's son until I can prove otherwise. 2. Sandi: Re: >parents are of MAUPIN, JOHN DABNEY, B 27 JUL 1814< Parents of John Dabney Maupin are Carr Maupin, b. Abt 1777 Alb. Co., d. 1845 Montgomery Co., KY, married 8/2/1813 Alb. Co., to Nancy Ann Dabney Burch, b. Abt 1792. John Dabney Maupin, b. 7/27/1814 Alb. Co., d. 8/16/1899 Louisianna, MO, m. Narcissa Davis, b. Abt 1814, d. 8/28/1858 Mongtgomery Co., MO. I understand there were at least four known children by this marriage. John Dabney Maupin, b. 1814, is the grandson of John Maupin, b. 1725 and Francis Dabney and great-grandson to Daniel Maupin and Margaret Via. Nancy Ann Dabney Burch was the daughter of either John or Thomas Burch, b. Abt 1772 Alb. Co.. John/Thomas Burch was the son of John Burch and Judith Maupin. Judith Maupin is the daughter of Gabriel and Ann Ballard. John Dabney Maupin, b. 1814, also married Jane G. Dickenson and had another 5 children, or so I understand? Supposedly married Jane on 6/6/1858 or 1859 in Callaway Co., MO. This information, I've gathered over the years and from the work of the people below. I am not sure of it's accuracy. However, these may be outdated address of people who did research on this family from notes of 1986. Good luck! 1. [MAUPIN-L] WE NEED TO HELP SAVE ANOTHER BURIAL GROUND
    2. Hi All: Please take time to read the below petition. Saving burial grounds/cemeteries is very dear to my heart and it would be great if a day came, very soon, that we wouldn't have to bother signing one petition after the other. I hope you find it in your hearts to take the time to go to the below URL and sign the petition. Blessings, Sandi Carter http://www.PetitionOnline.com/SUMRTOWN/petition.html To:  Burial Ground Protection The undersigned descendants of the Cherokee, Creek and other Indian Nations and supporters of the Summertown Homeowners Association hereby petition John Dunn, District 3 Commissioner, Gwinnett County, Georgia, to request that an immediate, emergency executive session of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners be called and that he move that the Board of Commissioners make an immediate offer at the Strippling appraised market value for the 191-acre tract and 15 adjacent acres owned by Bermuda LLC near Stone Mountain, Georgia, on the historic Etowah Trail, a major Indian highway through Georgia leading to the Etowah mound complex which later became the Gwinnett-DeKalb county line. The undersigned petitioners commend the sustained and self-sacrificing efforts of the homeowners in the Summertown subdivision and on Deshong and Bermuda Roads to preserve this tract, which archaeological studies have confirmed include Indian artifacts. We honor them as warriors and ask that Commissioner John Dunn support their efforts to preserve this site as undisturbed greenspace.
