I know I've seen a Chastain connection to the Maupin family. Seems to me that someone who married a Maupin was linked to the Chastain family. Haven't found that in Dorothy's book yet but have a lot left to do. Anyone have a Chastain link? We've always wondered, even Uncle Dude's daughter, who the Chastain people were. Cuz Sandi

    2. Hi, if someone has the time{those of you that already got your Dorothy Book} please look and see if anyone can find Frank B. Maupin born Jan. 13, 1883 and his dad George Maupin abt 1857? And see where this side of the family goes to . We are having so much trouble trying to piece us together. We're pretty sure we come from the Gabriel Maupin side of the family but haven't found documented prove yet. Thanks for any help you can give us. Brenda Maupin Ballard

    3. Amen to that, Phyllis. I have corresponded with and talked on the telephone with Ms. Dorothy since 1980 about our Maupin lines and documents. We went through illness, birth and death for both families. Only at the Reunion in October 1999, did I (Bill and I) finally get to personally meet this wonderful, very gentle caring lady. The book is a superb history of the early Maupin family - and she is to be commended for her dedication to the facts. Phyllis, I and many others can attest to this fact.
