    3. Hi All, If you will go on line and type in: www.mapquest.com , you can find any address you want on the map and expand it outward in any direction. I have it book marked in my "Travel Folder". I use it quite a bit at home. However, it quite difficult to use this on-line site or a CD if you don't have a laptop - which I don't have. However, I have gone into the library and used the internet on use this site if I needed to. 3. Leanna--Geo W. could very well be related to the Spencers because he has many more lines than the Maupin line--both his mother's and his father's. Even though we're not related to the Spencers, he might be. Denise

    3. Did anyone happen to catch Hollywood Squares today? The tie breaking question was this: "Are President Bush, Wintson Churchill, and __________(i forgot who the third person was) blood related?" Guess what the answer was? "YES, they are all descendents of the Earl of Spencer, Princess Diana's ancestor." Now the poor contestant lost because she disagreed with the celebrity who answered yes. Now doesn't Pres. Bush's lineage go through the Maupin line to Gabriel and Marie? And since we know that Dorothy proved that Marie was a Hersent and not a Spencer, should someone let the producer of that show know that the contestant really should have won? Who wants to write the letter? HA HA ~Leanna

Of course we all support our men in uniform. But to try to avoid a war is also not unpatriotic. Can we please keep this site non-political. Just my opinion. June

    1. [MAUPIN-L] Missing Links, Vol. 7, No. 52, 31 December 2002
    2. Hi All: Am just getting around to reading this issue of Missing Links and am passing on the below on American Veterans. Best, Sandi ++++++++++++++++++++ AMERICAN VETERANS. The Veterans History Project covers World War I, World War II, and the Korean, Vietnam, and Persian Gulf wars. It includes all participants in those wars--men and women, civilian and military. It documents contributions of civilian volunteers, support staff, and war industry workers as well as the experiences of military personnel from all ranks and all branches of service--the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, and Navy. All Americans are encouraged to participate. By interviewing a veteran or war worker as part of the Veterans History Project, you honor those who served our nation during difficult and dangerous periods in our history. It is essential to recognize, as Congress did, the importance of preserving a permanent record of your interviews for future generations of Americans to consult. Please follow carefully the instructions in the Project Kit http://www.loc.gov/folklife/vets/kit.html to ensure that your recording lasts and will be accessible to researchers and the public, both now and in the future. Plan to donate your interview to the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress or to one of our Official Partner organizations in your area who will help us preserve the National Veterans History Collection. Your cooperation will greatly assist the Library of Congress and the American Folklife Center in organizing and making publicly available this large and important collection. We invite veterans, active military personnel, and civilians to join our Volunteer Corps. Volunteers are the individuals who interview war veterans and identify documents to donate. If you are a veteran, you possess a valuable resource in your war memories and military knowledge, and we especially encourage you to participate as both an interviewer and an interviewee. Our Project Kit http://www.loc.gov/folklife/vets/kit.html contains all the information and forms you need to participate as a volunteer interviewer. http://www.loc.gov/folklife/vets/about.html
