    3. Susan, Thank You for sharing that!! Williamsburg has always been one of my favorite places to visit, thought about moving there several times before learning that I had several ancestors who actually lived there. Susie Riddle Pollock Austin Maupin b. 1796 Descendant I have more info of Maupins back past him but have not put it into my database on computer.

    2. Hi gang, Have been away for awhile from my family search due to family demands, business demands and sickness, but am doing much better and am back trying to tie up some loose ends and do some more search. We are going to be in Williamsburg/Norfolk/Cheseapeake area of Virginia May 4-May 10, and was wanting to know if anyone on the list can give me some details as to where to possible go and see some of our ancestor Maupin's homes/property or places to research or visit. Am planning about 3 days in the Williamsburg, Charles City, Richmond area and doing lots of historical sight-seeing including Civil War stuff, cause my great great grandfather Silas Maupin (from Mason County, VA) was in that War and am interested in getting as much background and historical information as I can. Also historical info on our colonial Maupin's and how they lived in the 16-1700s. So any help would be appreciated. Does anyone know if there were Maupin's in the area of Cheseapeake/tidewater areas? I know that I heard somewhere that there might be and that my Thomas Maupin owned tidewater property (better get my Maupin book out and do some search).... Thanks in advance for any help, including how the weather might be there in a few weeks !!! LOL!! We here in "sunny" San Diego are getting tons of rain and cold. 3. Dec. 11, 1930, believe Western Star, Warren Co. Ohio. Reads as follows: One beautiful day on May 9, 1881 a little girl came to gladden the home of Andrew and Angeline Watkins in Lee County, Kentucky and was given the name Rosa. She grew to young womanhood in her parent's home and at the age of 18 in March 1899, was united in marriage to CHARLE MAUPIN of that place and departed her life at her home in South Lebanon, Ohio, on November 30, 1930 at the age of 49 years, 6 months, and 21 days. To this union were born four children, one son, William having preceded her to the great beyond, leaving to mourn her loss, her husband and three children, Benjamin of South Lebanon, Roy of Lebanon, and Mrs. Mollie Wilson of Norwood, besides 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church and clung to the faith all through her life, always ready to lend a helping hand. A wonderful mother and aid, One who was better, god never made. A wonderful worker, so loyal and true, One in a million, that mother was you. Just in your judgment, always right, Honest and liberal, ever upright; Loved by your friends and all whom you know, One wonderful mother, that mother was you.
