I have an unidentified Mattingly I would appreciate help with. I am descended from John Townley Mattingly, John Mattingly, Richard Mattingly, Edward Stephen Mattingly, Vessie Mattingly (my grandmother). While in Greenwood County Kansas doing gen. research I came across a death record for a Richard Leroy Mattingly who died June 11, 1916 from Tubercular Meningitis at the age of 1 year and 23 days. What I surprise, all of the Mattinglys in Greenwood County were related to my grandmother and I had never heard of him. My grandmother would have been almost 7 years old at the time of his death. She didn't know anything about him. I just received a copy of the death cert. from Topeka (I requested the birth cert. as well, but it didn't come). They show him as follows: Richard Leroy Mattingly, born May 18, 1915, born in Kinsley, Kansas, the son of Ward Mattingly, born in Bloomington, Indiana and Daisy Campbell, born in Cherryvale, Kansas. Would appreciate any help! The body was removed to Edwards, Kansas. Kinsley is in Edwards County and is located between Wichita and Doge City Kansas over 200 east of Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas.
