    2. William R Mattingly
    3. From all appearances, Ann Melvina Mattingly, daughter of John W. and Eliza Newton Mattingly, married Basil Richard Willett 10-15-1861. The 1870 census finds the couple in Marion COunty, KY. with four kids: John 7, Ben 5, Susan 4, and Eddie 1. By 1880 they are found in New Hope, Nelson County with seven children: John T. 17, Susan K. 15, Joseph E. 11, Mary L. 9, James M. 4, Benedict W. 3, and Charles W. 6 mo. For clarification, the first son named Ben was Benedict Wilson (died in 1875) and the second was William Benjamin.
