I can't help but feel for Thomas Jefferson Mattingly. He must have spent his time in hell, here on earth. I haven't seen his picture but take your word on his physical condition. Regarding Nancy, daughter of Henry Martin (way I have him) Mattingly and Helen Thompson; each census I've looked at shows Nancy/Nannie younger than her husband. Charles Wm. was born 8-18-1847, according to everything I've seen. Do you think they were hiding her age?
