    3. Sandi, Not to chance the subject (much) but do you (or anyone else) know who this guy is: Buried St. Ambrose. Maybe he's descended from Charles. Jesse L Mattingly b. Feb. 14, 1893- d. Oct. 22, 1918. He died at Camp Taylor (WWI) during the flu epidemic. His next of kin was brother Elisha C. Mattingly, living in Union County. (I got his service death record) I know this is obscure but I want to know who this guy was. Could never find brothers Jesse and Elisha in anyone's home in Union Co. census records. Thanks, Ruth P.S. As for "Uncle Tom" Mattingly, son of Wm. C., my grandfather (Liston T) recalled that he died in the "poor house". I think it was in Muhlenburg County but would have to check with my aunt to be certain. Sad, huh? -----Original Message----- From: sandra reynolds [mailto:san526@concentric.net] Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2004 10:54 PM To: MATTINGLY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MATTINGLY] Food for Mattingly Charley, William, etal Judith Burger & I both have the marriage cert. & lic. for William C Mattingly & Teresa Irena Girten. She is one person I believe. Either of us would send you a copy if you wish. I speak for Judith here :-) Judith don't hurt me :-) I think I can out run her. :-) I think I started the mess with Nancy Ann Mattingly. But the correct Nancy in this case would be Martin Jr.'s sister and not his daughter. She was born Sept. 15, 1842 and married Charles Wm. on 26 Nov 1866. The date of marriage is from her headstone. I haven't found the record and have checked 4 counties. I come from this Charles & Nancy union by way of their daughter Mary Helena. I have found no reason yet that leads me to believe that our Wm. C. was married to a Monarch. NOTE ON THOMAS: "Family story on Tom, is that he was normal in every respect except that his legs did not develop." I think everyone should look at the old photos of Thomas Jefferson Mattingly. I don't think anything was "normal" he was a midget in every way. Ruhama Mills or Aunt Hamie by family members was not married to James Alen but to James Leo, son of Charles Wm.son of Wm. C. Hamie & Jim had 10 children. sandi ==== MATTINGLY Mailing List ==== <Z>WELCOME TO THE MATTINGLY GENEALOGY GROUP<Z> We also have the MattinglyForum-subscribe@egroups.com Your Host Website http://www.wvi.com/~wb Rootsweb Host http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/m/a/MATTINGLY/ To Unsubscribe or contact the List Owner MATTINGLY-admin@rootsweb.com mailto:MATTINGLY-L-request@rootsweb.com?subject=unsubscribe&body=unsubsc ribe mailto:MATTINGLY-D-request@rootsweb.com?subject=unsubscribe&body=unsubsc ribe ============================== Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial.
