MATTINGLY DIES AT RAYWICK Mrs. Mary Frances Downs Mattingly, 69, wife of Hugh Mattingly, died at 10:10 p.m. last Thursday at her home at Raywick after a long illness. A daughter of T.W. and Catherine Cross Downs, she was a native of Marion County. Survivors, besides her husband, include two sons, Marion and Michael J. Mattingly, Louisville; six daughters, Mrs. Clifton Thomas, Route 1, Lebanon; Mrs. M.L. Edelen, Mrs. J.R. Leake, Mrs. Lois Mattingly, Mrs. Lillie DeGraff and Mrs. John Faulkner, all of Louisville; two brothers, Hayes Downs, Raywick, and Herbert Downs, Indianapolis; six sisters, Mrs. Will Ward, Lebanon; Mrs. Hugh Thompson, Mrs. Walter Hall, Mrs. Cletus Nally and Mrs. Everett Russell, all of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Floyd Mercer, Galesburg, Ill., and 21 grandchildren. The body was at Bosley Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Monday when funeral services were conducted at St. Francis Xavier Church, Raywick, by the Rev. Robert Brown. Burial was in the church cemetery.
