On second thought, perhaps the B as his middle initial stands for Basil?? Could he be a son of Basil?
There is a Ralph Mattingly son of Basil d. 1833 and Mary B. Hagan d. 1856 both Washington/Marion County, but I don't have a dob for him. Basil and Mary B. had children 1818-1824, those I have birthdates for that is. And yes, Shirley, I would love to have those court records if you have them handy. Thanks.
