Now I really need help. I have Elizabeth McPherson married to Charles Mattingly not Benedict. This is from The Washington County, Kentucky Marriage Records 1792-1878 by Margaret Clark Kington on page 114, also from Kentucky Ancestors Vol 5 No. 3 pg 131 by the Ky. Historical Society. And the Mattingly family in Early America.by Herman E. Mattingly.pg 210. All 3 references say that Elizabeth married Charles Mattingly. Did I miss something somewhere or are there 2 Elizabeth McPherson's? Did she marry twice? Was he really Charles Benedict? I have also seen the reference Judith refers to, but hadn't placed that Charles Mattingly & Catherine Madden. The only Madden I have is an Ann Madden as Godmother to Mary Barnes, daughter of Sarah Mattingly & William Barnes. pg 11 of Kentucky Catholic Pioneers by Gerald Thompson.
