By George, I finally found Henry on both the 1830 and 1840 census records of Grayson County, Kentucky. For what-ever reason (blindness I suppose) I have continually overlooked Henry during each exhaustive search. I am prepared to declare Henry as a son of Barnett Mattingly but still would love to see some kind of proof. During 1840, Henry is shown on the same page as Bennett and Annastasia. Bennett was a son of Barnett, Sr. and Annastasia was Barnett's widow (Barnett died during 1830). At this time Henry was shown between the ages of 50 and 60 (meaning he was born between 1780 and 1790, hence supporting the presummed year of birth of 1787). During 1830 (page 315 of the Fed census and page 641 of the images on line of Ancestry.com) Henry is shown between the ages of 30 and 40 (meaning he was born between 1790 and 1800). The argument about his year of birth continues but I am compelled to admit he must have been a son of Barnett and Annastasia.
